Creative Wales stakeholder marketing and research privacy notice
The Creative Wales team respect and wish to protect the privacy of the users of our services. As part of our delivery, we will sometimes need to process some personal data about you.
Welsh Government is the data controller and will use your information to provide ongoing support and highlight business opportunities which might benefit your company. The lawful basis for processing your information is our public task; that is, GDPR Article 6(1)(e): processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Welsh Government. The level of support could include; advice, information and guidance.

Creative Wales’ creative industries marketing newsletter
If you sign up to the Creative Wales’ Creative Industries Marketing Newsletter then we will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us.
We will send you news and information that we feel will be of interest to you from time to time about the creative industries in Wales including new case studies, initiatives and events you may be interested in depending on your role, company type and location. This information will be specifically aimed at driving growth across the creative industries, building on existing success and developing new talent and skills – positioning Wales as one of the best places for creative businesses to locate and thrive.
Creative Wales stakeholder research
We will present you with the opportunity to be involved in research to help improve our services and policies. Completing these survey questionnaires is voluntary. However, your views and experiences are important in order to help inform Welsh Government policies. The information supplied may be shared with a contracted research company for evaluation on our behalf and if you have agreed to be contacted for research purposes then you may be selected to receive follow up creative industries related research surveys from time to time.
You are free to unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email you receive from us, or you can email us at creativewales@gov.wales.
Following industry standard practice, when you unsubscribe your email address will be retained on a system suppression list to ensure you no longer receive emails from Creative Wales.
Who will have access
Your personal data will be kept securely and will not be shared with 3rd parties unless they are delivering services on behalf of Welsh Government for the purposes listed above.
How we keep your data secure
Personal data provided to Creative Wales is held on secure servers within the UK or European Economic Area, and your personal data is stored in a restricted folder and restricted to the immediate staff members.
The Welsh Government has procedures to deal with any suspected data security breaches. If a suspected breach occurs, the Welsh Government will notify you and any applicable regulator where we are legally required to do so.
Your rights
Under the data protection legislation, you have the right:
- to be informed of the personal data Welsh Government holds about you and to access it
- to require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data
- to (in certain circumstances) object to or restrict processing
- for (in certain circumstances) your data to be ‘erased’
- to (in certain circumstances) data portability
- to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection.
