Our Creative Skills Fund is available for projects and programmes aiming to develop skills and talent within the music, digital and screen sectors in Wales.

Linked to our Creative Skills Action Plan, the fund supports the skills priorities of our creative industries, both companies and individuals, which will continue to drive growth across our sectors.

Read on to discover the projects we’re funding between now and 2026. While some are just getting started, others are building momentum on projects launched last year.

For updates, head to their websites or social channels, and for information on the first round of projects, read this article.

Screen Alliance Wales: Vocal Histories

First it’s Screen Alliance Wales, who will be recruiting trainees from underrepresented groups to learn the ins and outs of putting together a documentary.

Learning from expert documentary makers, the Vocal Histories trainees will research, produce, direct and edit a documentary film, working with the local community to select stories about their multi-ethnic heritage.

The project also provides an opportunity for students from the University of South Wales and Cardiff and Vale college to shadow the trainees in the production of their films, which will be shown on the big screen at the end of the project.

TAPE Community Music and Film: Resourcing Inclusion

Based in Colwyn Bay, TAPE is all about inclusion, and it is very much at the heart of this project. TAPE will create fully accessible, bilingual, easy-read documents, short films and audio guides all about practical working in the screen sector.

As part of this project, TAPE will also create inclusively-made short films which will be screened ahead of feature films in Vue and Odeon cinemas around the UK.

Hijinx: Creative Enablers

This project, led by Hijinx, will train Creative Enablers who will support disabled, learning disabled and autistic artists in their employment within the screen sector.
